Bettendorf has no single current book naming every resident. Useful clues are divided among the Scott County Assessor, Recorder, Elections Office, Iowa courts, city departments, and local library collections. We organize those official and institutional routes so a name, street, parcel, or old address can be taken to the record keeper most likely to answer the question.

Why We Built This Reference

Printed directories no longer provide a complete view of Bettendorf households, although the records behind them remain. Ownership evidence is held by the Scott County Assessor and Recorder. Voter data follows Iowa law. Older directories and family-history sources are kept by Bettendorf Public Library, Richardson-Sloane Special Collections, and the State Historical Society of Iowa.
